Additional Information: Theodosia Monckton,nee Fountayne,youngest of two daughters of John Fountayne and Elizabeth Monckton, of Yorkshire. She married Robert Monckton in 1692. Their only child, a son, John 1695-1751, became 1st. Lord Galway and Viscount Galway. The miniature is set in the original, turned, fruit-wood frame. Provenance: Sotheby's November 1992. There were several miniatures of the Monckton family, in the sale.
