Frederick Ludwig Von Goldenau Vieth 1768-1848 Two young children

This is a delightful portrait of two young siblings with their pet dog. They are shown with their arms around each other, the elder sister is holding their pet safely as he sits patiently to be painted. The miniature is inscribed 'Vieth' on the reverse and is set in the original gilt frame.

Dimensions: Rectangular 4 inches by three and a quarter inches.

One of Edridge's most attractive miniatures, the young girl is seated, her lap full of flowers, in a woodland scene with mountains in the background.It is set in a period locket frame with a hair panel reverse having a blue glass central oval, bearing the initials 'J.G.'in seed pearls.
